Quananiche, a 40-foot vessel used as an extension of a historic lakefront Williams Bay mansion, has the classic lines and rigorous mahogany construction of a late-19th-century launch. In truth, it’s a new high-speed Grand Craft cruiser lavishly outfitted with custom-made fixtures, furnishings, fabrics and more to recreate the glamour and opulence of its predecessor—a steamboat of the same name owned by the home’s original residents.
